[F]all is my absolute favorite season. To say I love everything about it is to put it lightly. In fact, I get more fired up about Fall than any other time of year. For me, it’s a time when I get to start a fire in the chimenea and sip my favorite hot beverage. It’s when I start a new Bible study in my home and I get to cook lots of healthy soups and stews and open my home to people hungry for transformation. I get to wear scarves and boots, cozy sweaters, and bake everything pumpkin. I love training outside in the brisk weather and seeing my breath hit the air. It seems like with the new seasons many things seem to change in my personal and emotional life as well.
A new season usually means a new me in many ways. It’s a time of focus and really digging in to what I want my life to look like. It’s a time when I ask God to show me and guide me. It’s a time when I cuddle up with him and listen. I want that for you too. This new season CAN mean a new you. Here’s how:
1. Exchange Busy For Intentional
If we let it, we can get involved in so many different activities that we actually wind up missing our lives. Take some time to sit down and journal what’s really important to you. Be intentional with your time and everything you do based on what you write down. You will find your schedule really clears up that way. What do you need to let go? What do you need more of? How can you make that happen?
2. Stay CONSISTENT with Your Training and Clean Eating
The average person puts on anywhere from 10-20 lbs during this time of year. Get a running start on the New Year and don’t backtrack. Stay in this thing and get a leg up on those New Year’s resolutions. My online training group is a great resource and accountability program for that. Avoid the “winter coat” with slimming soups and stews and better baking substitutions. I will be sending you my fave fall recipes on Thursday, so stay tuned! 3.Practice Gratitude
In every leaf you see fall, say thank you. For every amazing smell of the season, say thank you. For every kind and thoughtful act, say thank you. For every challenge, say thank you. For your ability to breathe, say thank you. For quiet time and really good candles, say thank you. Try this for 2 weeks straight and see if you aren’t a happier and healthier human being.
My prayer is that when we look up after this season is over we are in awe of who God has made of us.
