When it comes to being a woman, or a human for that matter, it’s easy to be preoccupied with an “image” of perfection, and yet we can be dying inside. We can post beautiful selfies and look put together, which may be contrary to what is really going on inside our hearts. In 2010, the Lord gave Destiny Orihabor the word “Unveiled” the summer before starting her graduate school program, and has taken her on a journey of healing and restoration ever since.
In today’s interview, I am excited to sit down with Destiny as she unveils her journey of launching a ministry and what it’s like to live life fully unmasked. Destiny gives us the backstory on how her life started with overcoming from birth, and how she had to overcome being misunderstood as a child. She shares her passion for influencing women through her ministry, Destiny Unveiled, and talks about embracing the beauty of being authentic and how she believes that only when we begin to truly face ourselves we can walk in freedom through God’s word.
Destiny was born in Nigeria and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. Destiny received her education from the University of Houston and it was there that she received her B.S. in Health and then went on to get her Masters in Public Health at UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth. Destiny’s passion is to see everyone walk in freedom and find their identity in Christ. Destiny launched her ministry, Destiny Unveiled, in 2016 with a mission to help women identify misconceptions and veils that have hindered them from walking in freedom, purpose, and destiny. In her free time,` you will find her exploring Dallas, trying out a new restaurant, listening to a favorite podcast, or curling up with a new book!
