Today’s episode is so juicy you will want to listen over and over again and take notes! If you know you want to build a business doing what you love and you want to do it online (pretty much a necessity these days) I’m breaking down exactly what you need to know, and it’s probably not what you think or what you’ve been taught.
1. Your business will always be a reflection of your thoughts. All the fancy funnels, website, and strategy won’t get you anywhere unless you change your thoughts. Your thoughts create your results. PERIOD. Work harder on your mindset than you do anything else.
2. There is no one miracle strategy.
There a million ways to build a business. They all work! Stop thinking that that “one thing” will give you the answer you need. Success is about finding out what works for you in your unique niche. There is no business in a box and it takes tons of trial and error.
3. Pick one social media platform and go deep.
You do not have to be everywhere at once. Pick the platform you love and where your people are and be consistent. Get good at sharing your message over and over again.
4. Consistency wins the day.
Let your people get used to seeing you no matter what. Even when you get crickets. We all start somewhere. Make a content calendar and stick to it. Do what you can commit to over and over. Consistency creates your paycheck because it develops like, know, and trust.
5. Your Business Will Evolve as You Do.
Make your plans in pencil. Be willing to take massive action to figure out what you need. Be willing to evolve and pivot. Don’t wait for things to be perfect or certain. You will adapt or die here.
6. Market Research like a motha!
Doing market research is crucial to your business. NEVER create from an idea you haven’t researched with your audience. Find out what they need and want and then give it to them if it’s within your expertise. My favorites for market research are google, Pinterest, amazon reviews, answer the public, and keywords everywhere google chrome plugin.
7. Everything Is An Experiment: Stop Taking Things Personally
Be willing to risk. Test, tweak, rinse, and repeat. Don’t let your world fall apart if something “fails”. Business is a massive experiment. Have fun with it!
8. Follow The Signs of Life
Business is simple. People are always telling you what they want. Do what works over and over.
9. You Need A Well Nurtured Email List and Converting Sales Funnel
Your email list is the #1 driver of your business. You need an email list NOW and a converting sales funnel so you can bring in money on autopilot. My email provider of choice is Convertkit.
10. Be Willing To Invest In Yourself At A High Level
Thinking that you’re going to uplevel your life from freebies and $7 Ebooks is chasing a fantasy. Those that pay-pay attention. Invest even if it’s scary and budget it in as a priority.
