There are some myths about passion, misconceptions, and things that get misconstrued, and I really want to shed some light on those things so that you can live freely and chase what you’re passionate about.
Where this comes from is that people don’t really understand what the actual definition of being passionate is.
A lot of times people are excited and act on emotionalism. They don’t actually understand what the true definition of passion is.
Just like anything else that God creates, the enemy will try to distort it. There’s a sanctified and an unsanctified version of just about everything in life and passion is no different.
What happens is the most passionate people find a way, they serve, they are consistent and stable, they’re loyal, and they show up and do the small things.
A person who is acting on emotion and excitement, won’t. They take off like a rocket ship and then fizzle out. A truly passionate person is not that way.
A truly passionate person lives in a place of peace and rest. They have boundaries and know how to prioritize their time because they’re truly passionate.
They’ve learned to do whatever it takes to get the job done, even the small things.
If you’re passionate, truly passionate, you’re willing to learn a new skill set, you’re willing to show up, and you’re willing to do whatever it takes.
If we look at Jesus for example, it was his passion for the Father and his passion for people that fueled him to serve.
So many people think that if you’re passionate it means you’re unbalanced and you don’t think about anything else, and that’s just not the case.
Now, you will get lost in it. There is a certain level of obsession and consumption, but it’s not an idol.
Our passion doesn’t define us, God defines us. Passion carries us along and it opens us up. It allows us to live truly alive and free.
A passionate person knows that God tells us who we are. It’s just a part of our essence and it’s what makes us come alive. God is who gives us our identity and our definition.
Not everyone is called to make money with their passion.
For some, it can be if they’re willing to go on a transformation journey. If they’re willing to change, grow, and invest in themselves, but this is not always the case.
Finding and tapping into your passion isn’t always about making money, it’s about becoming alive.
Your passion will not always be your profession or your vocation, however, if you are tapped into your passion in whatever you’re doing, you’re gonna do it better.
Your passion is your aliveness, it’s your flame. It’s what is fueling your life, and God defines it.
Your relationship with him is where your power and passion comes from, and that’s gonna allow you to embrace your calling and your assignment.
Remember passionate people are responsible, they show up, they serve, they have balance, and they have boundaries, but it’s not always their profession.
